about

"Holes," was released as a single in late 2016 but the band was never satisfied with it. It's redone here for the "We're All We Have" record. "Holes" is a song about loving someone so much it feels like a sublime kind of madness.

lyrics

HOLES

I only know one way to love you, I only know one way to feel
With all the madness in my soul, you’re the only thing that’s real.
We’ll shine like silvery comets, won’t you come and lift me up?
I wanna feel as deep as the ocean, love is love is love is love is love…

ch. Well, I’ve got this hole inside, I see you’ve got one too.
Yours is shaped like me and mine’s like you.

I was just whipping in the breeze ‘til you stepped out of my dreams
Then something was awakened, you lit the darkness in me.
The carousel is spinning in my head, I need you more than the sun and the wind.
I can’t live with or without you, you’re like Jesus and heroin.

ch.

Your lighthouse eyes guide me through this tempest sea.
Brilliant, blinding, colors colliding unto me.

I was lost out in the twilight, my heart riddled with holes
I was a stranger, you took me in, I’ve got nowhere left to go.
I know you don’t need me like the way I’m desperate for you
But there’s no one in this whole fuckin’ world who loves you like I do.

ch.

This petty world can’t stop us now.
‘Cos our love will go on and on and on and on and on…
