The Indomitable Force of Love

from We're All We Have by Divine Weeks

/

about

"The Indomitable Force of Love" is the last song of the opening four song Speaking Truth to Power suite of "We're All We Have." The song is where the record turns inward in a reconciliation that if we are stuck with the forces in power, we have to hold on tight to what we really are and to those we love.

lyrics

THE INDOMITABLE FORCE OF LOVE

I dreamed the nightmare was over, I still had my heart on my sleeve…we were
Reunited with the Mother of Exiles and our humanity.
Then a voice on the TV woke me, I knew then what I had to do.
The only thing to me that matters is holding on to you.

ch. Come to me baby, don’t you worry.
I won’t let you go…I’m the one who guards your soul.

Calling all rebel lovers out there, hate is too great a burden to bear.
We’ve seen this kind of hatred before, something we already fought and died for.
Here I stand with my brothers, my child, mother and lover,
And if this is our last song that’s sung, let’s all sing it as one.

ch.

What’s all this blood and toil over empires of sand?
Because when the lights go out…we’re all we have.

ch Come to me baby, don’t you worry.
I won’t let you go…I’m the one who guards your soul.

I’m always with you, always inside you.
No matter how far you roam…I’m the one who guards your soul.
